Artist Statement
My goal in any work I create is to convey a rich sense of emotion, whether through the colors, the lighting, the expression, or the composition. Exploring all the ways to capture that feeling is what I love most about being an artist. The process of telling stories through these visuals, something to lose yourself in just with one look, is what drives me to keep creating and growing everyday.
Process
Once I've mapped out the composition, I go in and create each main object, figuring out where the light and darks are and working out how different colors can convey a range of emotions. Then I messed around with adding depth by having some elements fade out while bringing other elements forward and more prominent. My favorite part of the whole process is adding the finishing touches to pull it all together, the characters that tell a story or the streams of light that add direction to the piece.
